Terms of Service
Last updated 2026-07-14. Effective upon publication.
Draft — pending legal review. This document is a working draft prepared as a starting point. It has not yet been reviewed by counsel and will be finalized before any commercial launch.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Virtus Formation website, courses, community, and related services (the “Services”). By creating an account, joining a waitlist, purchasing a course, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Eligibility
The Services are built for young men 15 and older, and for their parents. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 13 years old. Users under 13 may not create accounts.
If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has given you permission to use the Services and agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure, for providing accurate information, and for all activity under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, notify us promptly.
A parent and student may link their accounts by invitation. A linked parent can see the student’s coursework, submissions, and grades, and may manage seats and billing for the family.
3. Courses and Participation
Access to a course is granted on successful payment. Self-paced courses are open immediately and follow your own schedule. Instructor-graded courses run in scheduled classes with real seat limits; when a class is full, the next available start date is shown.
We may remove a participant who materially disrupts a class, violates the conduct rules below, or compromises the experience of other members. Removal for cause does not create a refund obligation beyond the guarantee in Section 4.
4. Payments, Refunds, and the Guarantee
Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store card numbers. All prices are in U.S. dollars unless otherwise noted.
Every course purchase carries a 60-day, no-questions-asked, full refund guarantee, counted from the date of purchase. Request a refund through the help page and we will process it promptly. A refund ends course access for the refunded purchase.
Where an installment plan is offered: a missed payment starts a grace period rather than an immediate loss of access, and paused enrollments can resume where they left off. If you have paid in part and never received access, you may always choose a full refund of what you have paid. We do not keep money without delivering.
If something is wrong with a charge, contact us first — the guarantee exists so you never need a chargeback. Chargebacks filed without any contact may result in account suspension while we sort out what happened.
5. License and Intellectual Property
All content we produce — videos, written materials, frameworks, workbooks, assignments, and curriculum — is the intellectual property of Virtus Formation, provided to you under a limited, personal license for formation within your household.
Within your family, a course seat may be reused — a younger brother may work through materials an older brother finished. We state that openly and price for it. What the license does not permit: copying, redistributing, reselling, republishing, or creating derivative works from Virtus content, or sharing access with people outside your household.
6. Your Content
You own what you write in the Services — notes, reflections, and submitted assignments. You grant us the limited license needed to store it, display it to the people the product is built to show it to (you, your linked parent, and graders), and grade it. We do not publish your work or use it in marketing without your permission.
7. Conduct
You agree to engage the courses and community with honesty, respect, and good faith. The following are grounds for immediate removal:
— Harassment, threats, or hate speech directed at any participant or member of the Virtus team.
— Unlawful conduct or the promotion of unlawful conduct.
— Distribution of explicit, obscene, or otherwise inappropriate material.
— Solicitation, spam, or commercial promotion outside the scope of program activities.
— Attempts to circumvent access controls or compromise the security of the Services.
8. Community
The Virtus community is hosted on Discord, an external service governed by its own terms. Access is subject to the posted community rules, which we moderate actively. Posts made in the community are visible to other members — treat them accordingly.
9. Disclaimers
Virtus provides educational content, frameworks, and community — formation, not therapy. We do not provide therapeutic, psychiatric, medical, legal, or financial advice, and nothing in our courses substitutes for consultation with a qualified professional.
The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We make no warranty that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet any particular expectation.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Virtus Formation, its founders, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services. Our aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Services in the twelve months preceding the claim.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms or conduct that threatens the safety or integrity of the community. You may close your account at any time through the help page. Termination does not relieve you of obligations incurred before it.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the Services grow. Material changes will be announced by email to the address on your account. Continued use of the Services after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Nevada County, California, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
